Terms of Use

The short version: YieldSmart gives you information and calculations about UK gilts — not financial advice. Prices are indicative and may be delayed, so check with your broker before you trade. Premium is £3/month or £29.99/year after a 7-day free trial, renews automatically, and you can cancel at any time. You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or an annual renewal.

YieldSmart is run by YieldSmart Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17306851), registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX (“YieldSmart”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply when you use yieldsmart.co.uk, including the free tools, price alerts and a YieldSmart account or Premium subscription. By using the site you agree to them. YieldSmart is an information and calculation tool. Nothing on the site is a personal recommendation or investment, tax or legal advice, and nothing is an offer to buy or sell any investment. YieldSmart is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and does not arrange or execute trades.

Net yields, tax estimates and projections (for example in Compare gilts, the ladder builder and Junior ISA / Junior SIPP pages) rest on assumptions — your tax band, holding period, the Accrued Income Scheme and current tax rules — which may not match your circumstances and can change. Past prices and yields are not a guide to the future. Consider speaking to a regulated financial adviser before making investment decisions.

Gilt prices are indicative mid prices from third-party sources and may be delayed (typically around 15 minutes during market hours, otherwise the last available close). They are not dealing prices: the price you get from a broker will include a spread and any dealing charges. Historical data is end-of-day.

We work hard to keep the data and calculations accurate — our approach is set out on the Methodology page — but we can’t guarantee they are complete, current or error-free. Always check the price and terms with your broker before you trade.

• –Best effort — alerts are checked every 15 minutes while the market is open (Mon–Fri). Email delivery can be delayed or fail, so don’t rely on an alert as your only way of watching a price.
• –Free alerts — up to 3 active alerts per email address; each sends one email and then switches off. Alerts set without an account must be confirmed from the email before they go live.
• –Premium alerts — unlimited, and they re-arm automatically after they fire.
• –Unsubscribe — every alert email has a link to manage or cancel your alerts.

Keep your password secure and your details accurate. An account is for one person. You’re responsible for activity under your account; tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it. You can delete your account at any time from account settings.

• –Price — £3 per month or £29.99 per year, as shown on the Premium page when you subscribe. YieldSmart Ltd is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is added.
• –Free trial — 7 days. A card is needed to start it. If you cancel before the trial ends you won’t be charged; otherwise your plan starts and is charged automatically when the trial ends.
• –Renewal — subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
• –Cancelling — cancel at any time from account settings (subscription) or by emailing us. Premium stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account reverts to the free plan.
• –Price changes — we’ll email you at least 30 days before a price change affects your subscription, so you can cancel first if you wish.

If you are a consumer you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of starting your subscription. On top of that, we’ll give you a full refund of your first payment, or of an annual renewal, if you ask within 14 days of that payment — email [email protected].

Monthly renewals aren’t refundable, but you can cancel at any time and keep Premium until the end of the month you’ve paid for. None of this affects your statutory rights.

Please don’t:

• –scrape, bulk-download or access the site or API by automated means, or resell or republish our data;
• –interfere with the site’s security or operation, or try to get around usage limits (for example by using several email addresses to obtain more free alerts);
• –use the site unlawfully, or set alerts for an email address that isn’t yours.

We may suspend or close an account or alert that breaks these terms. If you’re a paying subscriber we’ll tell you why, and refund any unused period unless the breach was serious.

The site, its design, text, calculations and code belong to YieldSmart or its licensors. You may use the site and the figures it shows for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Market data remains subject to the rights of its providers.

We aim to keep YieldSmart available and accurate but can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free; maintenance, data-provider outages or other events outside our control may affect it. We may change or withdraw features. If we make a change that materially reduces what Premium includes, you can cancel and we’ll refund any unused part of a paid period.

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. Because YieldSmart provides information only, we are not responsible for investment, trading or tax decisions you make, or for losses arising from them, or from delayed or inaccurate prices or alerts.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

We may update these terms as the service develops. The current version is always on this page with its date. If a change materially affects paying subscribers we’ll email you in advance.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please contact us first — we’ll try to put it right.
